The winner of the 1991 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and considered Simon▓s best play, this show is set in Yonkers in 1942.Neil Simon describes it as "the story about two boys who have lost their mother and whose father is forced to go out of town and become a salesman to earn a living. The father has to leave his boys with their grandmother who is, to say the least, a very austere woman. That old lady is straight out of Dickens. Bay-Atlantic Symphony. Fantasy and Reality
11.09.2003 04:00
Fantasy and Reality probes the internal world of Franz Schubert. It also features a stunningly beautiful Bay-Atlantic Symphony commission by composer/pianist Steven Mento. Elegy is a powerfully lyrical piece, very much in keeping with Schubert’s world of dream in the face of his tumultuous existence. Loretta Mento joins Steven to perform Schubert’s exquisite Fantasy, and we close with the enormous universe of Schubert’s most cosmic statement for orchestra, his 9th Symphony. Here, Schubert’s disillusionment with the world’s enormity is coupled with his romantic, escapist longing, to create a symphony of great beauty, complexity, and power.

Throw in a tendency to wander off into obscure spoken topics with a guest co-host from local radio, as invited members of the audience act as guests on the stage's comfy sofa and you may have somewhat of an idea of the originally crafted show "Rubbing Elbows with Ian Anderson." Tull acoustic gems from albums like "Aqualung," and "Thick as a Brick" provide the basis of the evening with a healthy helping of Ian's solo material.
